Everee Geotagging is un-invasive and less noisy than traditional Geofencing
With Everee’s Geotagging we simply tag the employee’s location when they clock in or out. It’s more akin to Geotagging rather than Geofencing because there’s no fence which means no unnecessary noise and there’s no invasive tracking of employees location when they are not using the timeclock.
Once Everee Geotagging has been enabled managers and administrators will be able to view a map of the employee’s location when they clock in or out. This view can be filtered by a date period as well as looking looking at a group of employees or just a single employee.
How does it work?
Once we enable Geotagging for your account (our customer service team can help here), your hourly employees will be asked to update their location services for the mobile app. Please note: we do not track where they are only their GPS location when they clock in and out.
If the employee does not enable location services (details below) then they will not be able to use the Timeclock from the mobile app. This ensures that all employees will adhere to your geolocation preferences.
Granting permission on employees’ smartphones
Employees must grant permission in the Everee app so we can capture their location at the moment of punching in or out. Two things are important: if there is a “Precise” button, it needs to read “On”, and the employee must press the “Allow” option. Selecting the “Don’t Allow” option will require the employee to go to their settings app to grant permission.
Everee's Geotagging feature is available for clients using the Basic and Premium packages.
Advice on getting started
Whether you are new to Everee or just new to this feature you will want to communicate to your employees that you will be tagging their location. It's important to share with them that they will need to enable the location services (above) so they can use the timeclock.
Also, it's a good idea to set up a Terminal as a back up when you start your Geotagging program. This provides your employees with options during those first days of getting started.
Ready to get started?
- You must use Everee’s timeclock. Don’t worry, this is a free service and it’s integrated with your payroll so it’s a lot easier.
- Ask your Everee customer service rep to enable Geofencing for your account.
- Once you do this all of your hourly employees will be asked to update the Everee mobile app so we can capture their GPS when they interact with the timeclock. Note: if any hourly employees fail to update their Everee mobile app they will not be able to clock in or with that device.
- For any employees who don’t have a smartphone or don’t want to download an app, you may want to consider providing a timeclock station. We can support this with our Locations feature and you can manage a one to many timeclock stations locally or remotely.
