We’re excited to announce some upgrades to our benefits and deductions screen. Let’s take a look!
*Please note that the addition of benefits/deductions to the worker profile is only supported on the web app at this time.
MULTIPLE OF THE SAME POST-TAX DEDUCTION/BENEFIT TYPE
We understand that a worker can have more than one of the same post-tax benefit/deduction type. With our latest update, an admin can now add multiples of each. This means a worker can have two different garnishments as shown in the example below.
DETAILED NAME ADDED TO DEDUCTIONS
Now that we allow multiple of the same benefit/deduction type, you’re going to need to differentiate between them. We have added an additional field to all post-tax benefit/deduction types called, “Detailed name.” You can enter any description in this field to help keep track of what specifically the benefit/deduction is for. It can be seen in the workers’ profile, payment summary, paystub and the benefits/deductions report.

CUSTOM INPUTS ADDED TO GARNISHMENT FORM
We realize that garnishments, in particular, come with some added complexity. In the garnishments form, an admin can now add the agency, agency address, identifying numbers, date garnishment was received, and if the employee has received written notice of the garnishment. Garnishments can also be a fixed amount or a percentage.

METHOD - FIXED AMOUNT
PRIORITIZATION OF POST-TAX BENEFITS/DEDUCTIONS
Admins now have the ability to prioritize post-tax benefits/deductions. This means that you can specify the order in which benefits/deductions are taken from the workers' pay. Simply drag and drop!
NEGATIVE BALANCES REPORTING
Workers can carry a negative balance if they do not have the funds to cover their benefits/deductions. Balances will carry over and be deducted from the next paycheck if the admin elects this option when adding the benefit/deduction.
Admins now have a report to view all workers with negative balances.
They can also click on any individual worker to get more details.
PAY STUB/STATEMENT UPDATES
The pay stub and the payment statement format have been updated to include details around benefits/deductions, including the “detailed name” field. Workers will be able to see what deductions they have and the order in which they are being taken from their pay.
