A contractor can now onboard as an individual or a business!
On the People page, select 'add a worker' and the admin can now select Contractor and either "Business" or "Individual" to send the worker through onboarding.
Business contractors: requires a business legal name and EIN, "DBA" (doing business as) is optional
Individual contractors: first and last legal name and SSN, DBA optional
The worker can choose either path from their first onboarding screen.
Worker profile: now shows Business Information and primary account owner information. The worker can change their business name and DBA in the 'my account' section of the web app, or an admin can change it for them.
Bulk Upload: Admins can also use the bulk worker upload tool to add workers to Everee by identifying their ‘payee type’ as ‘BUSINESS’ or ‘INDIVIDUAL’ and entering the business name (must be all capitalized). The contractor will have an opportunity to enter a DBA during onboarding.
Search: Admins can search on the people page by ‘first and last name’ ‘preferred name’ and now ‘business name’ and ‘DBA’.
Convert: An admin can convert an account that was originally onboarded as an ‘individual’ to a ‘business entity’ account. To do this, visit the worker profile, and on the Job tab, click to edit their information. A slide out will appear to collect the right information for the conversion. Please ensure the legal name information is correct as well as updating the TIN (SSN for individuals, EIN for businesses).
Note: Some workers have previously split their business legal name into the ‘first name’’ and ‘last name’ fields. Converting the account is an opportunity to correct that information so business information and contact information displays properly in the app for admins and on tax documents.
Onboarding Status in the Census Report: A worker's onboarding status can now be seen at the end of the census report as "not started", "in progress", or "complete".
Pay stubs: The pay stub now shows the business legal name in place of 'first and last name' if it is a business contractor.
